The new 2018 Honda Fit comes with updated look and with two new exterior colors. There are also new Sport trim and also couple safety and tech features standard on all trims.
Main rivals on the compact car market are Ford Fiesta, Toyota Yaris, Toyota Yaris iA, Chevy Sonic, Nissan Versa, Hyundai Accent and Kia Rio. Compared to is competitors new Fit comes with higher price, but previous models have good resale value with good quality and reliability.
2018 Honda Fit review
New styling includes new sportier look with wider body and lower height than before. Length of the car is now longer, and it includes 1.4 inches more for LX, EX and EX-L trims while Sport trim comes with unique aero kit, which adds 1.8 inches more compared to 2017 – year model. There are two new colors available: Helios Yellow and Orange Fury. Other color options are same as before, and this includes 6 old colors: Aegean Blue Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Milano Red, Modern Steel Metallic and White Orchid Pearl.

Other new thing that improves exterior look is an all – new Sport trim. This brings sporty look with more aggressive stance from all sides of the car. This model runs on exclusive 16 – inch alloy wheels. On the rear side of the car we can notice three – strake diffuser with trim line in bright orange. Sport badge on the rear door and chrome exhaust finisher completes overall sportier look.
Interior gets new standard features
There are four trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L and new Sport. All models come with rearview camera, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink and center storage console with armrest. There are also cruise control, illuminated controls, steering wheel with tilt and telescopic option, light in cargo area, etc. Leather – wrapped steering wheel is optional on lower models while Sport and EX-L models get it as standard. All models come with 4.2 – inch TFT color Driver Information Interface display with selectable function. Sport model adds more on standard LX trim. Just like EX-L model, the Sport trim gets 7-inch Audio touchscreen display with integrated 180 – watt 6-speaker audio system and smartphone connectivity – Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Safety includes Honda Sensing with all models
Honda Sensing adds more safety features on new Fit. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System and Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning. The new Fit is made to get 5 stars for safety. For that reason, there are a long list of passive and active safety features. Passive features include front and side airbags for driver and passenger, side curtain airbags with rollover sensors and Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure. List of active features contains Anti – Lock brake system with Brake Assist, Electronic Brake Distribution, Tire pressure monitoring system, Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control and Honda LaneWatch system.
Honda Fit 2018 specs
New Honda Fit 2018 comes with only one engine under the hood. It is powered by 1.5-liter DOHC 4 – cylinder engine with Variable Cam Timing. This powertrain produces 130 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. When it comes to transmission, there is 6 – speed manual transmission available with LX, EX and Sport trims, while all models are available with CVT automatic transmission with G – Shift Control. With manual transmission it has fuel economy rated at 31 mpg of combined drive. CVT gearbox improves these figures up to 36 mpg for LX trim, while EX, EX – L and Sport models come with a bit lower fuel economy – 33 mpg of combined drive.

2018 Honda Fit release date and price
The new Honda Fit 2018 is available on sale this summer with a base price just under $16,000 for the base LX model with manual transmission. The most expensive fit is EX – L with Navi package and it starts around $21,000. These price tags are without any additional expenses, such as tax, license, registration, destination charges and any addition option.
